Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will provide a briefing on Wednesday in Ottawa. Trudeau is expected to reveal details about the nearly $1 billion in emergency aid to be given out to small businesses through its six regional economic development agencies.

The fund is intended to cushion the financial blow experienced by businesses and organizations to allow them to continue their operations, including paying their employees, during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Tuesday, it was announced seniors feeling the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic would be able to get a one-time top-up to their Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Supplement payments.
